[...] my poetry speaks largely to the afterlife of the plantation rather than focusing on the plantation itself. And in doing so perhaps we can see how the plantation is embedded in the present day, and how it continues to permeate either as intergenerational trauma or as a terraformed environment. Both are these living archives of violence or a ruptured kind of history.
