Despite all of this, I have managed to do home-study every day to improve my English, so I can pursue storytelling work. This is my dream, to write and tell important stories. Since 2018, I have been working hard to change my situation, and the situation of others, through storytelling my experiences, my current and past daily life. Prose-Poetry. Aziza, Nur. "Unfinished Story of a Girl Born Stateless." Southerly, Vol. 79, No. 2, 2021, p.243, https://search.informit.org/doi/10.3316/informit.177901942009611.
In Indonesia, Asif fought to sustain his mental health, trying to keep himself busy. He was good at learning new skills faster which would amaze his friends. He took sewing courses and no sooner did he learn it, he would make shirts and Afghan clothes for his fellow refugee brothers in the community housing. Memorial, biography. At the end of my visit, he paused for a moment and added, 'I have seen other refugees die in these conditions. Please ask my people to give me a proper burial if I die.' Investigative Journalism. The longing he feels for his family is beyond description. From his mobile phone, Bismillah has watched his children grow up without him for the last nine years. "When can you give me a hug? I'll be grown soon and when I'm grown I'll be too embarrassed to be hugged," said his daughter. Photo Essay. Froghi, Ali. I'm the most thirsty wanderer in this valley,
Bring me some water.
I'm the most wounded man on this earth,
Bring me some ointment.
I'm a heartbroken traveler, open your arms
And kindly embrace me
I'm tired
I am broken
I am down
I gave up
I need your compassion, caress me. Poetry. Amiri, Asadullah. "I Gave Up Pretending." the archipelago, 25 April 2022, https://www.thearchipelago.org/i-gave-up-pretending/.
One of my students wrote in his diary the embarrassment of being slapped by the security guard of the accomodation who has no right to act harshly but to serve his shift on duty. He wrote a long story of that day. Reading his story, I could feel the pain that he meant to release by writing it down. That gave me a bad feeling, but at the same time, I found out that this is where he wrote about his pain and could help him relieve it. Memoir. Yawari, Ali Reza. Lost in the Calm. Akino Tahir, 2022, p. 71.
